About Us
Proudly serving families and children since 1972.
HighScope Approach
The HighScope curriculum is a high quality developmentally based program founded on the philosophy of 'active participatory learning', in which children and staff are engaged, interactive partners in the learning process.
Key Benefits
- Fosters Independence: Children take charge of their learning by making choices about materials and experiences based on their own interests.
- Builds Executive Functioning: The signature "Plan-Do-Review" sequence enables children to plan an experience, execute it, and then reflect on the results, building critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Boosts Emotional Intelligence: The approach incorporates social-emotional learning, helping children resolve conflicts, communicate effectively, and collaborate with peers.
- Encourages Lifelong Confidence: By allowing children's curiosity to lead the way under adult scaffolding, the program builds strong self-esteem and positive attitudes toward future learning.

Our Approach to Learning
We understand children's brains are developing at a rapid pace. By three years old their brain is 80–85% developed. Between the ages two and five years old children learn 95% of what they will need throughout their lifetime.
They will be learning the names of thousands of objects while navigating the complexities of social interactions, making decisions, learning skills in problem solving, beginning math, and with persistence developing their own hypothesis through critical thinking.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. We are committed to partnering with families to support the whole child — socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.
At Teddy Bear Day Care and Preschool, every child is valued, every family is welcomed, and every day is an opportunity to grow.
